Greetings, internet! I’m busy working on a ton of work while my friends tell me to stop working. After all, I’m on an international holiday.
I’ve finished up proofreading my latest screenplay called “The Funeral.” It was originally meant for the Cards Against Humanity film festival, but due to time constraints, I wasn’t able to get people to help me finish it.
I’m currently working on a new screenplay called Five Days. It’s about five people, a reunion, and five days. I can’t really talk more about it because… reasons.
I’ve found that the mountains and the lights of the small village I’m currently in are really helping me figure out how I want to write my next songs for the album I’m currently writing. I’m not sure if I should be concerned that I’m arriving back into the United States two days before my single releases, but I’ll figure it out. I’ll probably also be live on Twitch or something. Stay tuned! I’m on Twitter (not calling it X, X is a stupid name) @lwu877, and that’s where I’m probably gonna announce what my plans are.
My debut EP doesn’t have any lyrics, and it’s kinda been bugging me. I sent the songs for distribution, but then I started to think I could put some lyrics on them. If anything, I’d probably just put lyrics on one of them and call it a bonus track for my Bandcamp or something.
Something random just kinda popped into my mind. One of the songs in that EP I’ve sent for distribution, Walking in the Snow, was made while I was supposed to be on holiday. Y’know, christmas time? (or as our schools like to call it, holiday time? i know it’s like that to be religiously neutral, but i’m not religious and i still call it christmas time. once it’s engrained in your head, it’s really hard to forget.)
I’ve also been working on my design skills. I’ve really been inspired by the simplicity of a lot of Swiss and German logos, and I also really like the design of three letters I. a box. Then again, that’s kinda generic. I need to figure out how to create memorable stuff, and that’s what I’m working on.
Something that’s been bugging me is the flyers my grade’s student council makes. In fact, almost any flyer has bugged me. Personally, after visiting the Museum of Design in Zürich, I’ve really been sunken into the mindset that the Swiss Style of designing advertisements are one of the best ways to get information across. Just don’t squeeze as much information on a flyer. That’s not how that works. You simply cannot get your point across if you have words of conflicting priority.
Speaking of “That’s not how this works,” I’m really liking Sabrina’s version of the song. I swear to god there’s just something about it that I can’t unhear.
Anyways, I’ve really gotten into taking low exposure shots and boosting up the exposure in post. sometimes, the photos are good! but sometimes, they aren’t. well, that’s just something to keep in mind. I’ve also always wanted to take photos of an event but I’m not sure people would think I’m qualified enough. Ehhhhhhhhhhh… that’s a future me problem.
Speaking of future me problems, I’m into the podcasting mood again. Here’s a Question was an experiment for me into looking at what makes a podcast work. It didn’t do well, but it made me see what made a podcast work well. I have a general idea of what that future podcast would be, but I’m not sure who I’d be able to find that 1. is available for about two hours a month and 2. would have anything interesting to talk about. I also think I offended some people with my project name. So that might be a problem.
In my real life stuff, I’ve just rejoined band and I cannot wait for the holiday parade where I have to suffer while walking because it is both cold and slightly miserable.
I’m not sure when I’m not working on stuff. I really need to find a space where I can just unwind and completely forget about anything and everything I’ve been working on.
Oh, almost forgot. My latest song, Taking a Trip (Lex Wu’s Remix) launches soon.
Goodbye for now. (I really need to take a break. I’m on holiday!) Sending this off from Täsch, Switzerland! (it’s a federal holiday which means that pretty much everywhere is closed today. did you know that august 1st is the only federal holiday in switzerland?)
Cheers to a nice holiday for me!
